Layouts for DeDe

I must apologize to my Designers this month for being late in posting these on my blog. But with all going on in my life right now I know they understand. So without further delay, I want to share a couple of layouts I've done with two of Dede's newest kits - VillianZ and Heart EqualZ Home. Both are available at Digitals, 3Scrapateers, and iScrapbook as well as at DeDe's blog.
Both are awesome kits. VillianZ continues with DeDe's Heros of the HeartZ collection and features several of Disney's greatest villians, we all love the hate. These work perfectly with those layouts of our own little villians - who we love so much - when they are on their BEST behavior (NOT). Heart EqualZ Home is a beautiful kit which focuses on family and home. The rich, warm colors in the kit wrap around you with feelings of love, heart, and home. These are must have kits so hurry over and grab them.

CT Layouts for Amanda

Amanda has a great new kit in her store for those Fall, harvest, Thankgiving pics. It's called Harvest of Blessings and is AWESOME. I love the little owl, mushrooms, apple tree,...I could go on and on about this kit. I made a couple of layouts with it I wanted to share with you guys. And remember you can get this great kit by following the link to Digital's store.

So Much has Happened

since my last post. My mom lost her battle with cancer and my life has been running on high speed since then as I am the one responsible for her estate. This entailed much more than I had previously thought but I'm glad my parents deemed me responsible enough for this task. This is the reason for my absence from my blog. Then my uncle (my mom's brother) passed away from cancer last week. Add to that the holidays and the continuing saga of raising a child with a cleft and my life is more than full. My GS now has been diagnosed with Sleep Apnea and will have to sleep with a C-Pap once the issues with the insurance companies are worked out. He doesn't even sleep the night in one bed so I don't see how we are going to do this, but where there is a will there is a way and the Lord will help us find a way.

I've got one freebie project mostly done except for the preview and a second one that I'm working on off and on. I'm also loving my job as Amanda Thorderson and DeDe Smith's CT as well as Digitals store CT.

At Digitals this month I had the luck of working with an awesome designer, Shawn Walters. I chose two of her kits to work with this month - Misty Autumn Grandeur and Cameron's Classic Charm - The Chocolate Collection. Both are awesome kits. Below you will find some of the layouts I made using them. Hope you guys like them and keep coming back to see more.

Sunday, October 18, 2009

Just realized I hadn't shared these layouts with you guys. Both are made with DeDe Smith's newest kits.
The first is from her Not So Scarey kit. It was so much fun to work with. I love the scare"mice" and the funny pumkins. I blended two of the background papers to get the effect I wanted for the background of the LO. I just love the tree with the Mickey ear leaves too. You can find this kit at Digitals, iScrapbook, and 3Scrapateers.
The second LO is an addition to her Ahoy There MateyZ kits and is a DollZ. I had a blast working with these and can see a lot of other ideas coming from it - including a hybrid paper dolls - just got to find a little girl to give them too. Hope you like these LOs.

Woo - Hoo, I'm Amanda Thorderson's CT at Digitals

I'm so excited. I'm Amanda's CT this month at Digitals. And her new kit is awesome to say the least. I love it, but then I love all Amanda's kits. You've got to go to her store and check them out. The kit I used for this layout is called Remembering You and is brand spanking new in her store. It's romantic, vintage, and perfectly perfect in every way. You're gonna love it too. Hope you love the layout I made using this kit too. Can't wait to upload more with this great kit.

Ahoy There MateyZ

DeDe Smith has a new kit out. It's called Ahoy There MateyZ and if you haven't already guessed is a pirate themed kit. There are several items to go with it - A Brag Book, a set of Quick Pages, an Add-on Kit, some Stacked papers to get your layout off to a great start, a set of DollZ, you've got to see them. And I know once you've seen them you will be hooked. You can find the kit at Digitals, 3 Scrapateers, iScrapbook (coming soon). Here's one of the LO's I've done with this great kit. It's called Sweetest Treasure.

September CT Shares for Digitals and updates on my life

OMG Guys, September came and went and I've been so busy I can't see straight. Mom's getting weaker and weaker and I don't know how much longer I will have her with me but I'm trying to cherish everyday I have while praying God will do what is best in handling her pain. While I know I will be rocked to the my very core when it comes her time to go, I think I will be able to handle it as it breaks my heart to see her suffer so. She's fought a long and hard battle and has nothing but more pain and physical suffering left for her on this earth but oh the wonders that await her on the other side. For those of you out there who pray, please keep our family in thoughts and prayers as we need all the love, support, and strenght to make it through the days ahead of us.
As for my Scrap life. I had a LO published in Digitals October Magazine / Newletter. Toot, Toot. It was one of my CT LOs for DeDe Smith and is entitled Family Is.... I used DeDe's Believe in the Magic Kit.
My September Digitals CT assignment was Kathryn Estry. She has a ton of awesome kits and I love everything she does. I know you will too. I chose to use her Cookout Ant-ics Kit and her Classic Romance - in Pink kit as I was scrapping a picnic and a wedding. Both kits are awesome. Cookout Ant-ics is so fun and playful and filled with these precious little ants who are into everything. Classic Romance is the perfect wedding, engagement, couples, love - kit. It comes in several different colors so I'm sure you can find one to match your wedding needs.

These pictures were made during our Labor Day Pinic at a state park nearby. My GS and DD had a blast as you can tell by the pictures.

These pictures were made at a dear friends wedding. I thought the kit was perfect for them.

Believe in the Magic

I've got two more LO's to share with you guys. They are from DeDe Smith's Believe in the Magic kit and of course I had to scrap some more Disney's pics with them. Hope you like.

CT Layouts with Happily Ever AfterZ Wishes Of The Heart

My second kit for CT duties at Digitals this month was Happily Ever AfterZ Wishes of the Heart. DeDe is really outdoing herself with these Happily Ever AfterZ kits. They are awesome and perfect for any little Princess or Prince. You really need to check out this kit and all DeDe's other kits in this collection in her store at Digitals or at her blog.

I did three layouts with this kit. The first one is called Our Cinderella and is of my DD when she was 6 as Little Miss Georgia Forestry Queen. The second on is called Princess and is of my DD at 4 or 5 getting ready to compete in a talent contest. This layout was done as part of Digitals' Sketchy Details Challenge. The last one is called Cinderella's Castle and features my DD this past April standing in front of Cinderella's Castle at Disney World.

I'm On DeDe Smith's TearZ Crew

I'm so excited. While I was lucky enough to get to be DeDe Smith's CT this month at Digitals, I also submitted a few layouts in hopes of becoming a new CT member for DeDe Smith. Boy was I surprised to see the email in my box today saying I was one of 7 chosen out of 32 who applied. I can't wait to get my new blinkie up on my blog and in my siggies.

CT Layouts for DeDe Smith

This month at Digitals I was assigned to scrap for DeDe Smith. I was so excited as I have loved DeDe's work for a long time. I'm especially a big fan of her new collection Happily Ever AfterZ. I love Disney and these kits go along with the Disney animated movies. Add to that DeDe is having a CT call right now and I'm crossing my fingers that I will get to work with her on a more regular basis. It would be a dream assignment for me but either way, I get to work with an awesome designer this month.

The first kit I scrapped for her was Neverland - needless to say it's one of my favorite. I'm a big kid at heart and idea of never growing up has always intrigued me. Well maybe I would like to be an adult, just stuck in my twenties, with a great body, perfect health, no aches and pains - you get it.

You can find Neverland along with the rest of DeDe's kits at Digitals or at her blog. She also sells her designs at 3Scrappers.com, Divine Digitals, iScrapbook and ScrapWow and in her blog store.

You can also find larger pics of my LO's in my main gallery at Digitals, along with most of my other galleries.

So without any more delays, here's my layouts.
The first LO is called Disney 09. The pics are of my DD with several of the Pixies at Disney's new Pixie Hollow at Disney.
The 2nd LO is called Tink and is of my DD with Tinkerbell, her favorite Disney charactor.
The 3rd is entitled "Mommy, Why Can't I Fly". My GS isn't quiet old enought to sit through an entire movie yet but he did manage to sit through most of Peter Pan when I dragged the old VCR out to watch it with him the other day. He just couldn't understand why Pan could fly but he couldn't. When we told him you had to have Pixie Dust, he wanted us to get him some.
The 4th LO is called "I Won't Grow Up." When I got this kit those words keep running through my mind. The best part of growing up for me was having my daughter and now my grandson. But oh how I wish I could keep him just like he is now forever with the exception of being potty trained of course. I don't know how he feels about this but I'm sure he would go along with is Moo on it.
The last LO is called Neverland and features my GS sleeping below Peter, Tink and the Darling children as they fly off to Neverland. Maybe he is dreaming of going to Neverland on an adventure of his own.
I have also chosen DeDe's A Wishes Of The Heart, which features Cinderella and Believe in Magic Kit which is a basic Disney kit with BearZ
in Mouse ears. I will post these later this month.
As for the freebie I promised. I've finally got all my files back loaded on my computer from Carbonite and will load the kit in the next day or two. It's one of my best kits yet and I can't wait to share it with you.
This computer crash has made me oh so thankful that I subscribed to Carbonite a few months back. I want to encourage you to subscribe to Carbonite or a similar online backup site. We all know that it's not if our computer will crash but when and this way all your precious pictures, layouts, important documents and files will be safe.

CT Layouts for July

Hi all. Well July is over and I'm just getting these posted. It's been one heck of a month and has ended on a pretty bad note. My Computer crashed earlier this week. Thank God, my files were saved on Carbonite. But getting it back up and running was still a big pain. I started the month with a Photo Editing class and I've got to load the rest of my projects up for you guys to see too. Hopefully I will be able to do that in a few days. I've also got a great kit for you guys coming. It was part of the Elegance Convoy with Twisted Convoys but with all the computer problems I don't know if I will have it back by the time I need to go live with it. Hopefully I will be able to participate but either way, YOU WILL GET A NEW FREEBIE.

Now to the reason for the post. This month I worked with Heather Watson at Digitals. Her kits are great. I used Birthday Blast to scrap my GS' 2nd Birthday and Guitar Star Page Kit for a couple of fun pics. Both kits are great and ones you must go over there and snag for yourself.

Hope you like.

Day 9 of Class

Hi guys, this is day 9 of the class. It's called edge burn. You darken the edges of the photo with a level. Then use a gradient on the masking layer and a brush tool to lighten up the certain areas that need to to be in the spotlight. Didn't turn out half bad.

Photo Editing Class Shares

Sorry I've been MIA most of the weekend with the exception of checking a few emails here and there. Last Thursday, my dad had minor surgery. My Aunt and Uncle took him to the hospital, so I could stay with my mom. Since his surgery ended up being so late in the day and we live 3 hours from the hospital the surgery was done in, the drs decided to keep him overnight. So I ended up babysitting their 3 children ranging in age from 11 to 6 along with my 2 y/o GS. They had a blast but needless to say scrapping was out of the question. As for dad, he's doing great, went back to work on Saturday.

Friday night, I thought I might get to scrap some but my DD came home sick. Fever, pains in chest, coughing, sore throat. I figured the flu or some kind of URI and when she wasn't any better Saturday morning. I loaded this big baby up and carted her off to the walk-in clinic. When we got there, she started throwing up, so they said it was a virus, gave her sometime for nausea and sent her home. Whatever it was, she was fine today, so it must have worked it's way out of her body but by Sunday, I was feeling sick on my stomach, running a fever and had that bluh feeling. So it was a no scrap weekend. My farm on FB has even died. LOL.

Well, I went to work today even through I still feel pretty rough and finally got enough energy to get caught up on the classes I've been taking on photo editing.

So you guys are in for several shares tonight.

This pic is from Day 3, followed by Day 3 Bonus lesson with the addition of some starry brushes. I added some sparkle around the edges and a twinkle in his eyes.
Original pic above/ edited pics below

Day 4 dealt with clipping mask. I brightened the colors in this pic by playing with the hues and saturation, then added the clipping mask. Original pic on top/edited pic below
Day 5 brought textures to the mix. I chose a picture that I've been wanting to scrap but didn't think the quality was good enough. Changed the pic to b/w, added some texture layers and came up with this.
original pic above/edited pic below

Next they asked us to all a frame with a brush that was provided so I took a stock pic I had, added the textures and frame and this is the end result. I'm not really happy with it.
I was so happy with the way this one turned out.

It was the Day 5 bonus project. I took my original Day 5 picture added a clipping mask and some brushes and this is was the end result. I was pretty pleased with how it turned out.

Day 6 was TTV. What's a TTV, I can't explain it as it's a photography tech but the fake TTV textures and overlays are awesome. The project today was to take picture, used a combination of effects learned and add the TTV texture. I took a picture faded out the color by playing with the hue and saturation until I got the look I wanted. I hand painted my DD lips and the flower in a soft light blend mode. I then added the TTV which created a rounded corner frame look. Popped in some wordart and this was the end result.

original pic above/ edited pic below
Day 7 was a test to see how much we had learned and Day 8 was about adding text to pictures. So I grabbed a pic, added a texture and added the type. I think it looks great. original pic above/edited pic below
Now all I've got to do is scrap these pics tomorrow.

Another QP From the Kit I've been working on.

Download Link Expired
As promised I've got another QP from the kit I've been working on. Hope you like and leave some love if you download.

Day 2 of Class - Using Brushes in Photos

Day 2 of my class was about using brushes in photos. I used a brush to create the Mommy's Little Helper wordart. And of course I had to scrap my work so I pulled out Heather Watson's Christmas Cracker Template 2 and changed it a little. Add to that Lynne Simmons Delightfully Spring kit (birdie recolored), popped in a speech bubble and voila a new layout.

You can find it at my Digitals Gallery.
